Sales Manager / Capital Equipment (Island of Ireland)

Our client is a very well established global company seeking a Sales Manager to work closely with MD. Responsible for the management of the food sector sales and the food sales team. Strategic planning, business development and team management.

The Role:

• Engage actively in the development of Irish business plan, including participating in board and budget meetings with Group.
• In conjunction with the Managing Director generate and implement an integrated sales strategy to expand and develop the business
• Provide detailed market analysis and competitor activity
• Develop sales team potential including annual performance reviews targets & appraisals of food sales team Operational responsibilities
• Manage sales process including projects through to completion
• Develop Key Account strategy
• Target, develop new sales relationships to increase sales volume & maximize profitability
• Implement and manage sales team C4C pipeline, Provide accurate short, medium and long-term forecasts
• Achieve the agreed sales / development plans, winning new business and managing resources to the agreed budget targets
• Develop and maintain professional customer relationships
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the market and individual market sectors
• Manage the introduction of new customers into the business ensuring their effective handover to the various functions within the organisation.
• Co-ordinate closely with Projects & Service teams to ensure accurate specifications and capture of customer needs
• Improve margin and organic growth with existing business customers
• Negotiate contractual terms where they do not exist in order to protect and quantify the basis of the trading relationship
• Manage projects and developments within the business
• Manage customer accounts to agreed credit limits and time scale
• Ensure payment is received in full and on time for all goods and services supplied by working closely with the credit team
• Develop, maintain and motivate the Sales team, which is aligned to meet current and future business needs

The Candidate: 

• Strong proven B2B capital equipment sales, preferably in the Irish food production sector
• Experience managing a team
• Third level degree in a business discipline at NFQ level 8/9 desirable
• A detailed understanding of the Irish food production sector
• Track record in selling turn-key capital equipment in the (preferably Irish) food industry.
• Prior Technical / Engineering sales would be an advantage
• Strong business acumen and good people management skills
• Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in MS Office suite
