Our client is based in Dublin North and is currently recruiting for a part time Data Protection Officer.
This is a part time role (20 hours per week) and salary is circa €55k pro rata.
DUTIES OF THE ROLE :
Evaluate the existing Data Protection Framework and oversee the development and implementation of an Information Governance Framework which ensures the organisation complies with Data Protection legislation, company policies and supports the management of information as an organisational asset.
Review the existing Data Protection and Information Governance frameworks and identify areas of partial and non-compliance.
Draft new and amend existing Data Protection Policies, procedures, processes and guidelines where required in consultation with key stakeholders to ensure organisational compliance.
Support staff in relation to all data protection related queries and incidents as well as ensuring the company is fully compliant with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Maintain an awareness of best practice as promoted by the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC).
Report and manage all data protection incidents and breaches and liaise with staff, affected data subject and DPC as required.
Review the effectiveness of current procedures for the managing of data
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE :
Detailed knowledge of data protection and privacy practices and the regulatory and legislative frameworks, including GDPR and the practicalities of implementation
A third level QQI qualification level 6 or above.
Minimum two years’ experience in a data protection role or in a compliance role with data protection responsibilities is essential
A relevant Data Protection qualification (CIPT, CDPO, CIPP etc.) is desirable
Have good analytical and evaluation ability
Exceptional organisational skills and demonstrated project management skills
Have experience and knowledge of risk management processes.
