ISO Quality Systems Engineer

Our clients, a multi-national supplier to the Food and Drinks industry, are looking for an experienced Quality person to join their team. This is initially a contract role.

The Role:

• Management of the QMS and in preparing and undergoing external accreditation audits and Regulatory Visits (Department of Agriculture Food & Marine, BRC, FEMAS, ESAD. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & HPRA,).
• Lead on the implementation of BRC7 systems and assist the Management Representative during site external & customer audits. Creation, management and auditing of all food safety policy and procedures.
• Management and maintenance of all Quality / Food safety policies
• The management and maintenance of local business policies and work instructions.
• Complete Customer questionnaires & request for information for Dublin customers in a timely manner.
• Analysis of materials (both raw materials and finished goods) in accordance with agreed parameters and maintenance of all associated records.
• Completion of Internal Audit programme at Dublin site in conjunction with depot Internal Auditors.
• Create depot HACCP risk assessments and fulfil the role of HACCP team leader.
• Contact and lead in the preparation and completion of Customer Site visits and Due Diligence Audits.
• Manage the Customer Complaint system – to include complaint investigation and corrective action implementation, management of RIN system, non conforming product and customer liaison.
• Drive Continuous Improvement in depot operations through monitoring of key KPI’s identifying adverse trends and implementing, with the support of the management team, remedial actions.
• Management of the creation and issuing of depot generated Certificates of Analysis in a timely manner.
• Customer specific Label generation and Management.
• Supplier liaison on quality issues & monitoring of their performance.
• Management of the on site training programme and the maintenance of the relevant records.
• Provision of standard and ad-hoc management reports.
• Participate in COSHH, Noise, LEV and Packaging Waste monitoring.
• Deputise for the Warehouse Manager as required.
• Undertake other tasks or duties as assigned by the Operations & Compliance Manager.

The Person:

• Third level qualification in a life science, Food or chemical related discipline
• Level III HACCP for Manufacturing
• Certified Internal Auditor
• Level 2 Food Safety for Manufacturing
• Level 2 Allergen awareness
• Health & Safety Qualification Desirable.
• Experience in Manufacturing / Distribution in the Food & Beverage, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical sectors
• Chemical Storage and Distribution experience an advantage
• Previous experience working statutory authorities HSE, FSA, HPRA & Dept of Agriculture, Food & Marine
• Detailed knowledge of QMS & Foods Safety Management systems such as BRC7, ISO 14001, ISO 9001.
• Working knowledge of Irish / EU Food Safety Legislation ESAD 11
• Working knowledge of Irish / EU Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
• Good communication skills. Confident in communicating at all levels of the organisation.
• Familiar with the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer & Database packages.
