Financial Controller – Dublin 22

Our clients, a multi-national engineering business, are looking for an experience Financial Controller to join their Senior Management team. This role will be varied and will manage a team.

The Financial Controller is a key Business Partner within the company -supporting all parts of the business including Sales, Service, & Operations as well as being responsible for all Company reporting -Group, Statutory and Taxation.

The Role:

• Work closely with Managing Director -Member of Senior Management team for the company
• Actively participate in the development of Company Strategy -Growing Business, Increasing profitability.
• Partner with Sales team on deal structure to ensure margins are protected and delivered as planned.
• Partner with Service team on Customer pricing strategy for Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance. Ensure Service costs are managed and controlled.
• Take lead on Annual Budget process and Forecasts – make sure each department own their numbers.
• Drive and Implement process improvements throughout the company.
• Be a key player in any system implementations -Current project -FMP 360 for Service. Improve usage of Sage Financial System
• To ensure accurate and timely reporting of the requisite financials in line with group requirements and more importantly to accurately interpret business results on a continuous basis to identify potential issues to address or opportunities to pursue to enhance the operating profit of the business.
• Ensure all local legal, tax and statutory reporting requirements are fulfilled including liaising with local and group auditors.
• Manage relationships with professional advisers on Company Pensions & Insurance
• Review levels of working capital in the company to ensure it is kept at optimum levels in order to maximize cash flow.
• Ensure adequate financial controls and review systems in the company to ensure accuracy of reported information and minimize risk of fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate activities. Encourage “whistle blowing” when required.
• Participate in acquisition processes and integration as required.
• Implement Group Finance initiatives in the company, monitor progress and report back status and deviations from plan.
• Complete and proactively manage all people focused policies and procedures, including but not limited to recruitment, performance management, absence or leave across the Finance department.
• Follow all internal group policies and adhere to the AAES Authorization Manual, Risk Control Matrix (Racm), code of conduct etc.

Key competences:

• Qualified Accountant with minimum 5-10 years Industry experience
• Previous Construction / Engineering industry experience would be a distinct advantage
• Exceptional business acumen-numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Provides strong leadership, is persuasiveness and decisive
• Adaptability and Stress resistance
• Commercial and cost-conscious attitude
• Excellent communicator internally and with Customers
