Economic Policy Analyst

Our clients, a large firm in the Telecoms sector, are looking for an Economist / Economic Analyst with experience in applying economics in a regulatory or a commercial environment.  You will work within a multifunctional team.  You can expect to manage a range of projects.

The Role:

The Policy & Research Analyst will report to the Senior Manager in charge of Strategy and Research and will have responsibilities in the following areas:

• Deliver high quality policy and research outputs, involving the use of quantitative analysis techniques, policy analysis, data collection and analytics, document reviews and presentations.
• Lead the planning and implementation of various projects, including developing project plans, monitoring project progress and updating with project stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and assistance to other business teams in developing appropriate analysis and analytical capabilities for use in regulatory decision making
• Market Insights: Tracking key developments across the range of markets, key developments in adjacent markets where outcomes have may have impact on the evolution of regulated markets and regulatory measures, and other key strategic data relevant to achievement of regulatory objectives.
• Deliver high quality policy and research outputs, involving the use of quantitative analysis techniques, policy analysis, data collection and analytics, document reviews and presentations.
• Lead the planning and implementation of various projects, including developing project plans, monitoring project progress and updating with project stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and assistance to other business teams in developing appropriate analysis and analytical capabilities for use in regulatory decision making

Qualifications & Experience:

• Post-graduate third level qualification in a quantitative or human sciences subject, e.g., Master in Economics, business, finance, or other suitable qualification.
• Relevant post-graduate work experience in an economics or economics policy setting, including experience in a multidisciplinary environment
• Deliver high quality policy and research outputs, involving the use of quantitative analysis techniques, policy analysis, data collection and analytics, document reviews and presentations.
• Lead the planning and implementation of various projects, including developing project plans, monitoring project progress and updating with project stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and assistance to other business teams in developing appropriate analysis and analytical capabilities for use in regulatory decision making
• Excellent analytical abilities, including the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information.
• Familiarity with Telecoms / Electronic Communications sector an advantage
