Structural Engineer Temporary Works

Our clients are looking for an experienced Structural Design Engineer to carry out detailed design and checking of temporary works in sheet piling and propping for civil engineering. The role will provide technical support to assist with operational activities.

The Role:

• To prepare and check detailed technical designs to install and support sheet piles (including calculations, drawings, risk assessments, design certificates)
• To undertake preliminary designs for pricing – obtain independent checks and/or third-party technical approvals.
• To ensure design outputs meet Eurocode 7 and other relevant standards
• To provide technical information / advice – propose and/or develop value engineered alternative solutions (during design or construction phases)
• To undertake technical review of method statements for complex or unusual methods
• To ensure design outputs meet environmental compliance.
• To assist with the development & maintenance of processes, procedures and standards for technical design

The Person:

• Degree in Structural / Civil / Geotechnical Engineering
• Thorough knowledge and experience of engineering management, construction processes and technical design
• Knowledge of relevant design software
• Work experience in Geotechnical Engineering is not essential, but an interest in the area would be an advantage.
• Ability to manage resources and communicate effectively with both internal and external parties
