Project Manager – Electrical Switchgear

Our clients design and manufacture electrical power distribution solutions including custom built switchgear, packaged sub-stations and motor control panels.  They are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their team.

The candidate will play a key role in delivering electrical switchgear projects to key customers, whilst driving sales and profitability for the business.  They will be a key point of customer contact for projects and project delivery.  Complete project management responsibility.

The Role:

• Liaise and build relationships with key customers, consultants, supply chain
• Coordinate work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications
• Manage all stages of the tendering process
• Lead numerous Switchgear projects from specification through to delivery
• Engage closely with customers to ensure requirements are understood, documented, and delivered on
• Work closely with all functions to develop project schedules and cost estimates
• Review tender documents
• Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
• Manage change requests/orders
• Ensure all activities are properly coordinated with the client programme
• Work closely with the team including Estimators, Engineering, Procurement and Production to create an accurate bill of materials and to ensure all facets are delivered on schedule
• Assist with identifying labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents
• Document and record all enquiries ensuring a project pipeline is maintained and up to date
• Share leads with team
• Assisting with Planning & Programming
• Liaise with and assist the Team by providing regular feedback on products and pricing 

Skills and Experience required:

• Experience of project management tools and concepts
• Practical knowledge of switchgear ideal
• Proven track record managing numerous projects simultaneously
• Have experience in relation to interpretation of initial enquiries, specification standards, value engineering of quotes, alternatives selection and relationship building with Contractors and Clients.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong leadership skills
• Customer focused and results driven
