Our clients, a multi-national business with locations throughout Ireland, are looking for a Payroll Manager to be based in their Citywest office. The Payroll Manager will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for managing the daily operations of the payroll function for the Group. This role will include management of a payroll team both within head office and in other locations around the country. The role will include identifying and creating a centralised and integrated payroll function to support the group wide headcount.

The Role:

• Review the existing payroll set ups across the group and implement a centralised payroll set up to cater for the full group set up
• Ensure documented process notes are in place for all procedures
• Put in place internal templates that can be used across the organisation
• Ensure an appropriate control environment is in place in line with Plc best practice
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
• Ensure payroll runs are processed in an accurate and timely manner for the group
• Oversee the preparation of payroll related documents
• Put in place structures to ensure accurate processing and control is in place for new starters, leavers, pay changes, personal information changes, etc
• Resolve issues relating to payroll run
• Put in place a KPI tracking process to monitor performance of the payroll function (e.g. number of payroll errors per run, number of hours missing per run, etc). KPI’s to be provided to the CFO on a monthly basis
• Provide the finance and HR functions with monthly/quarterly/annual reports in line with deadlines laid out
• Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits as such
• Support the business Directors on ad hoc projects as and when required
• Put in place a high performing team to support the integration of the existing business units and to support the continued growth of the organisation
• Manage the payroll team and ensure proper objectives, succession planning, etc is in place to support the ongoing development of the team 

The Person:

• Previous experience working in a senior payroll role, preferably with a Plc background
• Previous experience of Timepoint an advantage
• Proven ability to manage and work as part of a team
• Proficient with Microsoft products including Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, with an ability and willingness to work in the detail and take a-hands’ on approach
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and presentation skills
• Positive, can-do attitude, displaying a high level of commitment & motivation
• Demonstrates a desire to grow and undertake additional responsibility
• Highly organised and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities
• Demonstrates articulate and professional communication style across all levels of the organisation
• Demonstrates high levels of personal and professional standards
• Ability to build strong business relationships
